Q: |
What
are the weight restrictions for registering my football player? |
A: |
This
year Raider has implemented guidelines regarding the maximum weights for
registering your son/daughter for football. Each athlete will be weighed at
registration, equipment handouts, and again at the first day of practice.
Any athlete not within the threshold as of the first day of practice will be
required to move to the next age/weight group. The thresholds for the first
day of practice are as follows: |
-
Mighty Mites - 75 lbs |
- Mini
Mites - 100 lbs |
- Mites
- 125 lbs
See weight & Age Chart below |
-
Midgets - 145 lbs |
-
Juniors - 175 lbs, (200 lbs for 13 year old between the ends and down
linemen) |
These
thresholds are for the safety of both the athlete trying to lose the weight
to play, as well as the athletes that are league weight and are having to
have full contact with players above these thresholds. It is important to
know that if you choose to register your son/daughter knowing they are
beyond these thresholds, there will be no refund given if the decision is
made to not move your child to the next age/weight group |
